National Bone Marrow Registry

8 or 9 years ago, to impress a girl in college and show her that I am “compassionate” (it did work by the way) I donated blood and put myself into the National Bone Marrow Registry during an on-campus drive.  I just got a call over the weekend that I’m a match to a 14 year old girl with leukemia and will be going through the process of donating bone marrow.

I’ve never really done anything nice for anyone that wasn’t myself in my entire life, so this honestly is the best Christmas gift I have ever received.  (Sorry, Ghostbuster’s Firehouse that Santa got me when I was 6, that moves to #2).

I wanted to put the link out there— everyone please, I’m telling you, if you are lazy and selfish, slothlike and greedy (like me), this might be a way you can give back.  So please register if you can.  And I just wanted everyone to wish me and especially the girl luck during this process.
